Since opening Bay Bridge Optometry in 2016, Dr. James T. Liu has worked with thousands of patients to improve their vision and ensure their eyes stay healthy and comfortable. Dr. Liu graduated from the prestigious Southern California College of Optometry in 2011 before relocating to Northern California. He began practicing family optometry in various settings including private practices and corporate optometry. This allowed him to develop the careful demeanor that his patients know and love. Dr. Liu enjoys the precision of a perfect glasses prescription and then working with each patient to determine the best glasses lens design for any lifestyle. He has been a full-time contact lens wearer for the past three decades so he knows a thing or two about fitting contacts - especially the more difficult prescriptions like high myopia, astigmatism, and keratoconus. Achieving perfect vision through glasses or contact lenses is only the beginning. According to Dr. Liu, the eye health portion of the examination is the most important part! Widely regarded as a very capable diagnostician, Dr. Liu takes pride in catching eye health issues that others may miss. But an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and Dr. Liu tirelessly promotes ANNUAL eye exams for all patients regardless of health status. When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Liu spends his time with his wife and two young children whom he loves and adores. He also loves watching baseball, soccer, and college football.
